Stockton man, 22, dead after appearing to fall down elevator shaft identified

STOCKTON, Calif. — A man police believed to be a burglary suspect who died last week in Stockton after appearing to fall down an elevator shaft has been identified.

Gabriel Hensley, 22, of Stockton, died after he was found in the elevator shaft with severe injuries early Tuesday, Aug. 5 along the 600 block of North Aurora Street, according to the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Officers first responded to a burglary report around 1 a.m. and located Hensley during their building search, according to the Stockton Police Department…
