STOCKTON, Calif. — A nonprofit that lost its Stockton office in a devastating fire earlier this summer is finding new life thanks to community support.
Digital NEST, which provides workforce development programs for young people, had just celebrated its grand opening in January when the Main Street building was damaged in a fire in June.
“We lost all of the furniture in the space. We lost laptops. We lost 3D printers, so the damage was pretty extensive,” said Jillian Ruiz, vice president of Digital NEST. “Most of the stuff was received to us through donations, through grants, so it’s going to be hard to replace and to recover.”…
