Copperopolis, CA – On Friday, August 22, 2025, at approximately 4:00 A.M., deputies from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary in progress at a licensed commercial cannabis site in the 1000 block of Bonanza Mine Road in Copperopolis, CA.
The reporting person initially reported the burglary, which was captured through video surveillance footage. They stated that three suspects were observed on the premises, each armed with a firearm. As law enforcement arrived on scene, they initiated a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle, which fled eastbound on Highway 4 towards Stockton. A deputy and an Angels Camp Police Department officer pursued the suspects into Farmington, CA. The Sheriff’s Office coordinated efforts with the California Highway Patrol, who took the primary lead in the pursuit.
As the suspect vehicle travelled on Highway 99, it became involved in a collision. The three suspects fled the accident scene on foot. Coordination with allied law enforcement agencies enabled the establishment of a perimeter and the search for the suspects. Two of the suspects, one adult and one juvenile, were located and taken into custody without any further incident. One suspect remains outstanding.
