Stanislaus State eyes new campus near Tracy

TRACY, Calif. — Stanislaus State is exploring a new campus in San Joaquin County, just outside Tracy.

The university, which currently has a main campus in Turlock and a satellite campus in Stockton, began talks this week with developers behind the proposed 1,500-acre Pacific Gateway project. The site is located near Interstate 580 and Highway 132, southwest of Tracy.

“We were approached by a very generous and visionary donor, as well as the Pacific Gateway Group, to explore the possibility of launching a campus in the Tracy region,” said Stanislaus State President Britt Rios-Ellis. “The region is growing, so should access to public higher education.”…
