Gustine city manager announces resignation after 20-month tenure

GUSTINE — Gustine City Manager Soknirom Than has announced his resignation, effective Oct. 28, after serving in the role for just over 20 months.

Than, who was hired in February 2024 following a months-long search, submitted his resignation on Sept. 3. In a written statement, he described his time in Gustine as “a place of purpose, connection, and deep pride,” and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the community.

“Being in Gustine has been a privilege,” Than said. “I’ve had the honor of working alongside dedicated staff and community members who care deeply about this City’s future. Together, we’ve strengthened public services, built trust across departments, and fostered a culture of collaboration and transparency.”…
