LATHROP, Calif. — A San Joaquin County community is reeling after a Lathrop High School student was struck by a car just steps from campus.
The collision happened less than an hour after dismissal on Monday at Spartan Way and Central Pacific Street. Lathrop Police said the student was taken to a local hospital, but the victim’s age and condition have not been released.
“Monday afternoon we responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision near Lathrop High School. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment,” said Lathrop Police Capt. Tracie Shea. “There’s no indication that there’s any criminal activity associated with this. Our thoughts go out to the family member of the pedestrian.”…
