Stockton Unified Trustee AngelAnn Flores was removed from the school board on Monday, just hours after being sentenced in her vehicle insurance fraud case. Her removal took effect immediately, leaving a vacancy in Area 2.
A jury convicted Flores of felony fraud in July. According to prosecutors, the former school board president back‑dated an auto‑insurance policy and filed a false claim after a minor collision, waiting several days after purchasing the policy to report the crash. Her attorneys had tried to reduce the felony to a misdemeanor but the judge declined. By law, that makes her ineligible to serve in public office.
Flores will serve two years of informal probation and must complete 120 hours of community service. If she does not complete the community service within one year, she could go to jail for a period of 45 days…
