An elderly woman was injured last week after she was attacked by a dog while walking her pet on Estep Drive, according to the Modesto Police Department.
Spokesperson Sharon Bear said officers were called just after 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, to a hospital where the woman was receiving treatment. She suffered moderate injuries when a Cane Corso — an Italian breed of mastiff — broke through a backyard fence and attacked her.
Nearby witnesses helped contain the dog and stayed with the woman until emergency medical personnel arrived, Bear said…
