Stanislaus coroner needs families to claim cremains of two women

The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office is looking for families to take possession of abandoned and unclaimed cremains.

On Aug. 22, the abandoned cremains of Marguerite Manuel Carnegie were brought to the Coroner’s Office. Carnegie was a Modesto resident at the time of her death in 2017. She was 81 years old.

The coroner also has possession of the unclaimed cremains of June Freda Mitchell. She died at age 61 in May 2007 in Pensacola, Florida…
