Stockton Police Arrest Suspect in Connection with September Homicide and Additional Shooting Incident

Following a series of investigations into a shooting that left one man dead, the Stockton Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the homicide. According to a Facebook post from the Stockton Police Department, officers were called to the 7000 Block of Tristan Circle in the early hours of September 4, after a report of a shooting was made. Upon arrival, they discovered a 39-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital where he remained in critical condition until his passing five days later.

The detectives on the case worked continuously to gather evidence and track down the individual responsible for the crime. It was on September 12 that they, with the aid of the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force, managed to apprehend Joshua Tuimavave, age 33. Initially taken into custody on outstanding warrants not related to this case, Tuimavave was subsequently linked to not only the homicide, but also to a separate non-injury shooting incident that occurred on the very same night.
