University of the Pacific achieves full renewable energy across all campuses

STOCKTON, Calif. — The University of the Pacific has reached a major sustainability milestone: renewable energy now powers 100% of the electricity needs across all three of its campuses, making it one of only 16 colleges in the United States to achieve this distinction.

The university’s electricity comes primarily from hydroelectric and solar sources, supplemented by geothermal and wind energy.

The Stockton Campus officially completed the transition this month, coinciding with Campus Sustainability Month, while the Sacramento and San Francisco campuses made the switch earlier in 2025…
