Sheriff’s bomb squad responds to suspicious device in Modesto. What it found

Responding to a report of a suspicious device in north Modesto on Tuesday night, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad recovered what could be a live grenade.

“Last night, around 8:25 p.m., a resident cleaning out a property in the 2600 block of Keller Avenue discovered a suspicious device,” said Modesto Police Department spokesperson Sharon Bear. “The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad responded to the scene and handled the situation.”
