A 22-year-old Turlock man, Ronaldo Hernandez, has filed a government claim against the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, alleging deputies used excessive force against him at the county fair on July 20. The claim is a required step before filing a lawsuit. According to KCRA, the incident occurred after a concert when Hernandez was attending the fair with family and friends.
Video footage released by Hernandez’s attorneys reportedly shows deputies tackling and striking him while bystanders were kept away. Attorney Neil Gehlawat told KCRA that Hernandez was punched in the face and body before being thrown to the ground by deputies.
