Stockton Resident Appointed to Key Corrections Role in Latest State Leadership Announcements

On October 23, 2025, Governor Gavin Newsom announced appointments to several positions in California state agencies.

Jeannie Ramas of Wilmette, Illinois, was named General Counsel at the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Ramas has worked in law and public service, including at the Cook County Sheriff’s Office and the Chicago Housing Authority. The position pays $211,140 and does not require Senate confirmation.

Elizabeth Williamson of Walnut Grove was appointed Chief Deputy Director of the California Department of General Services.
