Stockton City Leaders Join Volunteers at Emergency Food Bank

On Monday, November 3, members of the Stockton City Council rolled up their sleeves alongside local elected officials to volunteer at the Emergency Food Bank on Scotts Avenue. From 11 a.m. to noon, city leaders helped sort, pack, and distribute food to families in need — a visible show of solidarity during a time of financial strain for many households affected by delays in federal CalFresh and EBT benefits.

The volunteer effort comes as the region experiences growing demand for food assistance due to the ongoing federal budget impasse. Councilmembers and staff joined volunteers already working tirelessly to ensure families don’t go hungry.
