STOCKTON, Calif. — Hundreds of San Joaquin County residents lined up at the Emergency Food Bank of Stockton/San Joaquin on Monday as uncertainty looms over the future of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
Public officials from city council members to county supervisors came together to volunteer, offering support to people in need. While their presence was welcomed, officials acknowledged that volunteer work alone can’t fully reassure those worried about losing food aid.
