Bulletproof vest, explosive device found on suspect during arrest, sheriff’s office says

Bryant and White attempted to run from deputies around Sierra Nevada and Park Street after they tried to contact them, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said deputies detained the two a short distance away and found that Bryant was wearing a bulletproof vest, dropped a firearm during the chase and had an explosive device in his possession.

White had a black crossbody bag with him, which contained a firearm and multiple bags of narcotics, which tested positive for fentanyl, the sheriff’s office said.

Both men were determined to be prohibited from using guns as they had active warrants, SJCSO said. The suspects were arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on multiple felony weapons and narcotics charges…
