MPD leads Halloween weekend DUI operation resulting in 17 arrests

The Modesto Police Department led a DUI crackdown, Operation Night Guardian, during Halloween weekend. It led to 17 arrests, 12 of which were for drunk driving.

The operation was in partnership with the California Highway Patrol, the Turlock and Oakdale police departments and the Stanislaus Regional 911 dispatch. In addition to the 17 arrests, 24 vehicles were towed and eight drivers were caught on suspended licenses from previous DUIs.

According to a Facebook post from MPD, several other “on-view” crimes were caught as a result of the coordinated DUI operation. MPD spokesperson Sharon Bear said these included charges for public intoxication, evading the police and domestic violence…
