San Joaquin County Court Data Breach: Local Residents’ Personal Information May Be Affected

The Superior Court of California for the County of San Joaquin in Stockton has completed an investigation into a cybersecurity incident. The breach took place between October 25 and October 30, 2024. During this time, an unauthorized person accessed some court systems and obtained copies of sensitive files. After discovering the breach, the court contained the incident, hired a cybersecurity firm, and notified law enforcement.

The investigation found that the compromised files included personal information. This information may include names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license or California ID numbers, tax identification numbers, passport numbers, military IDs, account numbers, credit or debit card numbers, and medical or health insurance information.
