Man convicted of first-degree murder in 2023 San Joaquin County shooting

Scott Sherman, 40, was found guilty by a jury of first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of Felix Makinano in Lodi on October 3, 2023. The jury also found true a firearm enhancement and convicted Sherman of carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a controlled substance.

The DA’s office said the evidence that was presented at trial shows Sherman had been drinking and consuming psilocybin (magic mushrooms) at his Lodi apartment before meeting the victim outside Garry’s Lounge, a bar in Downtown Lodi…
