San Joaquin County Residents: $10.8 Million Available for Mobile Home Flood Recovery and Safety Upgrades

San Joaquin County, California, has allocated $10.8 million for housing recovery. The funds support the Manufactured Home Replacement and Elevation (MHRE) Program. This program was created after floods affected the region from December 2022 to January 2023. It aims to help eligible mobile homeowners replace and elevate homes that were damaged or destroyed. The goal is to lower future flood risks.

Paul Canepa, Chair of the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors, said the funds will help rebuild homes and support community safety. Grants of up to $500,000 per unit are available. The program targets very low-, low-, and moderate-income households. Applicants must be owner-occupants of mobile homes in San Joaquin County. They must also report any disaster-related assistance they have already received.
