Detectives Seek Witnesses in Road Rage Homicide

Alameda County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) detectives are asking for the public’s help as they continue investigating a violent road rage confrontation that left a Tracy father of nine dead near the Castro Valley BART station.

On Saturday, November 8, at around 7:40 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers responded to a report of a collision near Wilbeam Avenue and Norbridge Avenue. When officers arrived, they found 49-year-old Jason C. Elola suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

Authorities say a physical fight broke out after the crash, which may have been caused by a road rage dispute. Elola’s family had stopped for ice cream after celebrating their son’s 18th birthday in San Francisco. His wife later told reporters that her husband got out of their Subaru to protect the family, including their two youngest daughters, ages 5 months and 5 years…
