Stockton serial killer charged with 6 counts of murder, 1 attempted murder

(FOX40.COM)—  An alleged Stockton serial killer was charged with six counts of first-degree murder and one of attempted murder, as well as other related charges, according to San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas.

Wesley Brownlee was originally charged with the murders of seven people and the attempted murder of one woman in 2022. The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s office presented the grand jury with evidence for six weeks before Brownlee appeared in court on Thursday.

The six counts of first-degree murder the jury charged Brownlee with are one less than originally charged. Freitas noted that the indictment keeps Brownlee eligible for the death penalty, despite the state of California currently prohibiting carrying out executions…
