Johnny Ford Named Stockton’s Next City Manager After Unanimous Council Vote

Stockton is welcoming a familiar face into one of its most important leadership roles. After a nationwide search that drew more than 67 applicants, the Stockton City Council has unanimously approved the appointment of Johnny Ford as the city’s next City Manager. The 7–0 vote affirms broad support for a leader who has spent decades serving communities across the country—and most importantly, the one he calls home.

Mayor Christina Fugazi shared her excitement, emphasizing that the recruitment confirmed what many already knew: the best choice for Stockton was already here.

“Johnny has lived here for many years, raised his family here, worships here, and has dedicated much of his life to serving this community,” Mayor Fugazi said. “His heart is in Stockton, and I believe he is the person who can help bring this Council together so we can move our city forward.”
