(FOX40.COM) — Long emergency room wait times and inappropriate hospital room conditions are causing concern for one local family after they arrived at San Joaquin General Hospital last week.
Jacqueline Stone, a San Joaquin County resident, told FOX40 that she brought her mother to the ER last week with spinal pain, needing urgent care. After waiting hours for her mother to be admitted, Stone found her mother and several other patients lined up in the hallways. Stone said the patients were stacked bed after bed without private rooms, being tended to by limited staff, and kept near doors to the cold outside, just feet away.
“Being sick and being hurt is miserable enough,” Stone said. “It seemed like they were degraded and — it hurt my heart to see my mom and the other people there.”…
