Faith leaders gathered Sunday afternoon to decry a mass shooting that rattled the Stockton community, calling for peace and urging residents to cooperate with law enforcement as investigators worked to track down those responsible for what they described as a targeted attack.
The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said 15 people were shot, four of them fatally, during a birthday party for a child at a banquet hall just outside Stockton. The deceased victims were ages 8, 9, 14 and 21, according to the sheriff’s office.
