Ripon College Updates Campus Tour Route, Adds E-Sports Lounge and Removes Diversity Center Stops

Ripon College has changed its campus tour route. The Admissions Office now includes the new E-Sports Lounge in the Quads. Stops at the Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) and Student Support Services (SSS) in Bartlett Hall have been removed. This change was made about five months ago as students returned to campus. Some students and staff have raised concerns about how this affects prospective students’ views of campus life.

Student ambassadors lead the tours. They are supervised by Campus Visit & Events Coordinator Anna Kohls and Director of Recruitment & Graduate Admissions Kristen Brown. The tour now lasts one hour. John Kakuzi, an Admissions Ambassador and Class of 2028 Senate Representative, said the change was made to include the E-Sports Lounge and to highlight new facilities. Kakuzi noted that tour guides can still mention CDI and SSS, but these stops are no longer part of the official route.

The Admissions Office has not given a full explanation for the new route. When asked by the student newspaper, College Days, the office declined to comment on the departure of two admissions employees. The office said more information would be shared with the college community soon. As of December 4, no further details had been released…
