Gun found in Cheez-It box leads to arrest of 3 felons in Buena Vista theft, deputies say

AMADOR COUNTY, Calif. — Three people were arrested Tuesday evening after finding a loaded handgun hidden inside a Cheez-It box during a search of a truck in Buena Vista, deputies said.

According to the Amador County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday after a deputy saw a truck towing a stolen car trailer that was parked at a gas station.

Before the people inside could leave, the deputy, assisted by California Highway Patrol officers and an Ione Police officer, detained everyone inside the vehicle…
