Salida families, we’re excited to bring you a fun, lighthearted way to connect with your neighbors and make memories together—Find the Duck, hosted by Macaroni KID!
This community game is all about getting families outside, laughing together, and sharing a little friendly fun around town.
🎈 What Is “Find the Duck”?
A giant inflatable duck will be traveling around Salida. When families spot it, they can take part in the game by “stealing” the duck (with an adult present) and moving it to a new location.
The duck will continue to make its way around the community as families find it, move it, and pass the fun along.
🧐 How the Game Works
- Spot the inflatable duck somewhere in Salida
- (It will be placed in a family’s front yard or porch and must be visible from the street and easy to access.)
- “Steal” the duck with an adult present
- Move it to your home (MUST BE VISIBLE FROM THE STREET)
- Send Macaroni KID an email or message letting us know you have the duck [email protected] or INSTAGRAM @MACKIDMODESTOCA or Facebook
- Tag us or send photos/videos of your family stealing the duck so we can share the fun!
- Game ENDS January 1, 2026! Winner will be drawn and notified then!
Each time a family steals the duck and messages us, they’ll be entered into the giveaway drawing.
🏆 How to Win
- Every family that steals the duck and messages us will be entered into the giveaway drawing
- You may steal the duck multiple times—each time you steal it and message us, you’ll receive another entry into the drawing
- The last family who has the duck will message us and return the duck to Macaroni KID
- That last family with the duck will receive a special gift as a thank-you for wrapping up the game!
🎁 PRIZES
Families who participate will have a chance to win up to $100 in gift cards generously provided by local businesses, including:

Every time your family steals the duck and messages us, you’ll earn another entry into the giveaway drawing—so feel free to join the fun more than once!
📜 Rules (Please Read!)
To keep this game safe, respectful, and fun for everyone:
- Kids may only steal the duck with an adult present
- No running on anyone’s property
- Do not touch or take anything else on the property
- Be respectful of neighbors and community spaces
- Please take good care of the duck so everyone can enjoy playing
- Homes/families in SALIDA, CA only!
- The duck is BIG, so please be careful, walk it home, place it in the trunk or truck bed and SAFELY drive it home!
Macaroni KID Modesto is not responsible for any damage to property. Participation in this community game is voluntary, and families take part at their own discretion. Please play safely and respectfully.
