High-ranking gang member pleads guilty, receives 10-year prison sentence

The DA’s office said Pedro Fuentes, a high-ranking member (“Carnal”) of the Nuestra Familia and a shot caller for local in-custody Norteño gang members, pled guilty on Dec. 11 to multiple felony charges stemming from gang-related violence and drug smuggling into a county jail.

While out of custody, SJCDAO reported that Fuentes was involved in planning a jail “removal” in which the victim was stabbed in the cheek and near the ear. He told other Norteños that the victim was “good to be removed,” authorizing the attack…
