Evacuation warning issued in Modesto as levels rise on Tuolumne River

MODESTO, Calif. — Emergency officials in Modesto issued a precautionary evacuation warning Monday for an area along the southern bank of the Tuolumne River.

The warning zone includes around 100 homes in between the Tuolumne River and River Road and between 9th Street and Avon Street.

While conditions may not appear dangerous at first glance under overcast skies, the Tuolumne River is already running high and fast, just feet away from homes, even before the worst of the storm arrives…
