Frederick Wesley has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for a March 2022 crime spree that included a hotel shooting in Lodi and a home invasion in Stockton. Authorities said the incidents left one man dead and a woman critically injured. During the Stockton home invasion, Wesley forced his way into an apartment where Tyrone Deloney, 32, and Jozette Huerta arrived to protect family members while children were inside the home. A relative told ABC10 that Deloney attempted to intervene and said, “That’s how he got shot.” Deloney later died from his injuries, and Huerta was hospitalized with critical injuries.
District Attorney Ron Freitas said the case recognized Tyrone Deloney’s actions and that the sentence ensures Frederick Wesley will no longer be able to harm others. “When a family is cornered and children are in danger, we look for a hero to step up.
