Popular singer-songwriter returning to native Modesto region for benefit concert

Oakdale’s Brett Dennen will return for a show at the State Theatre to benefit Camp Jack Hazard. The singer-songwriter was a camper and later a staff member there, according to the theater’s website. It’s just one of the entertainment options in the Modesto region from Jan. 3-9.

“Brett Dennen Live – A Camp Jack Hazard Benefit Concert” brings the Oakdale native back home for a show at the State Theatre. Dennen’s 2008 album, “Hope for the Hopeless,” reached the Top 50 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Camp Jack Hazard has been serving the Modesto region for more than 100 years, letting youths discover adventure, nature, music and friendships in the Sierra Nevada. The program will mirror a day at the camp. Singer-songwriter Dennen will weave his music into the experience…
