CHP increases DUI, speeding enforcement on New Year’s Eve

(FOX40.COM) — As people prepare to ring in the new year, the California Highway Patrol is increasing enforcement efforts across the state, warning that holiday travel combined with rain, fog and impaired driving can be a deadly mix.

In Modesto and other parts of Stanislaus County, CHP officers got a head start on patrols, with extra officers on the roads throughout the day. Their message to drivers is simple: start the year safely.
