‘Unique’ Wallet Theft In Amador County Ends In Arrest Twist

Amador County, CA – A unique stolen wallet investigation ended up in an arrest twist after it turned up on a Stockton man several days later.

The Amador County Sheriff’s Office recently received a call reporting the loss of a “very unique” wallet at a bar, and fraudulent credit card charges had already been made. Deputies then contacted multiple businesses where the stolen cards had been used, looking for security camera video of the thief.

About a week later, on Coal Mine Road in the Jackson Valley area, a deputy made a traffic stop on a blue Ford Explorer SUV for expired registration. Inside was a Stockton man, wearing a red flannel coat, who was on probation and had a felony warrant for his arrest. That allowed for a search of the SUV and him, and he was found to have methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on him. Sheriff’s officials disclosed that before going to jail, the suspect asked the deputy to collect his wallet from the vehicle…
