Attention residents of Amador, Calaveras, Inyo, Madera, Mono, Stanislaus and Tuolumne Counties
Health Net has recently made a major commitment toward addressing food insecurity across California, including your county.
What was announced:
- Health Net and the Centene Foundation awarded a $1.1 million grant to California Association of Food Banks (CAFB).
- The grant will support expanded food distribution and enhanced emergency food response for 12 California counties including Amador, Calaveras, Inyo, Madera, Mono, Stanislaus and Tuolumne.
- Funding will help deliver healthy, nutrient-dense foods and invest in essential infrastructure, including refrigerated trucks and cold storage — aiming to improve access and distribution for rural communities that face greater challenges accessing fresh food.
- The resources will flow through 10 local food banks serving the 12 targeted counties, with CAFB overseeing distribution to maximize reach and impact.
