Stockton man sentenced for illegal firearms dealing and possession of machineguns

SACRAMENTO, California — Rayshawn Williams, a 20-year-old from Stockton, has been sentenced to 77 months in custody for illegally dealing in firearms and possessing machineguns. The sentencing was announced by United States Attorney Eric Grant and delivered by Senior U.S. District Judge John A. Mendez.

According to court documents, Williams conducted illegal firearm sales between May and July 2024, selling ten firearms to a confidential informant on the streets for cash. Among these firearms were two Glock pistols equipped with machinegun conversion devices, known as “switches,” enabling them to fire in fully-automatic mode. Judge Mendez noted Williams’ boasts about his involvement in a jewelry store burglary in Oakland, his affiliation with a violent street gang, and his substantial criminal history despite his young age…
