STOCKTON, Calif. — After one year sitting in the mayor’s office of California’s eleventh largest city, Stockton Mayor Christina Fugazi says she still hears the biggest change every day.
“Wherever I go now, the store, walking down the street, literally anywhere I’m at, somebody will be like ‘oh, mayor!'” Fugazi said. “There’s also a huge responsibility being mayor as well. It’s much bigger than being a councilmember. Even though I only have one vote, I still am the one who helps to draft policy, set the agenda and make sure that we have solid relationships with all of our partners.”
Fugazi admits it’s been a rough year…
