Regional: Second Man Convicted In Murder-For-Hire Plot, Dublin Defendant Trial Nears

Federal prosecutors obtained a second conviction in a murder-for-hire scheme involving accomplices from Manteca and Dublin, the U.S. Department of Justice said.

Shaminderjit Singh Sandhu, 52, was sentenced to seven and a half years in federal prison Thursday for conspiring to use interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire.

According to prosecutors, Sandhu conspired with Jagninder Singh Boparai, 49, and allegedly with Dublin resident Ramesh Kumar Birla Jr., 46, to murder someone referred to as “Victim 2” in court documents…
