City of Stockton Welcomes Back Christine Tien as Deputy City Manager

The City of Stockton is welcoming back a familiar and highly respected leader as Christine Tien returns to City Hall as the new Deputy City Manager, bringing with her more than two decades of experience in public service, philanthropy, and community-focused leadership.

A former Stockton Deputy City Manager, Tien’s return signals a renewed commitment to equity, innovation, and results-driven leadership. Most recently, she served as Senior Program Manager at The California Endowment, where she oversaw initiatives centered on health equity, housing stability, environmental sustainability, and economic opportunity—guiding the distribution of more than $110 million in grants across California.
