CHP searching for SUV after Modesto hit-and-run seriously injures pedestrian

A 34-year-old woman suffered major injuries when she was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning in south Modesto, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported around 2:30 a.m. Feb. 1 on Bystrum Road, just south of Pecos Avenue, the CHP said in a news release. Emergency responders arrived and found the woman lying on the shoulder of the road with major injuries. No vehicles were at the scene.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Doctors Medical Center. Authorities did not release information about her condition…
