Makers of Black history will adorn the walls of the McHenry Museum in Modesto until March 15. The old photos and newspaper clippings stand amid video screens where current residents share their own memories.
The installation was led by Angela Drew, who became the city’s first Black poet laureate in 2024. The free museum, at 1402 I Street, is open from noon to 4 p.m. Fridays through Sundays.
