A Hughson City Council meeting turned tense this week when a councilmember publicly detailed allegations of sexual misconduct against the city’s mayor, prompting renewed denials from the mayor, confirmation of an outside city investigation and audible reactions from members of the public in attendance.
Councilmember Susana Vasquez accused Mayor George Carr of inappropriate touching and harassment during closing remarks at the meeting, describing multiple alleged incidents that she said occurred inside Hughson City Hall and city council chambers.
