Stockton’s recent violent incidents
The shooting comes as Stockton continues to grapple with high-profile gun violence. In November 2025, a mass shooting at a children’s birthday party left four people dead and wounded more than a dozen others, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. That attack intensified calls from city leaders for more resources and spurred law enforcement to seek tips and surveillance footage from residents. Since then, community groups and officials have continued to debate how best to focus on prevention and intervention.
