STOCKTON, CA — “On February 7, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., members of a Stockton-based car club unlawfully shut down the Crosstown Freeway between State Route 99 and Interstate 5 while engaging in sideshow activity during what was described as a “freeway takeover.” The incident brought traffic to a complete stop for several minutes and prompted participants to exit their vehicles to film the illegal stunts.
Officers from the CHP Stockton Area, working in collaboration with Delta Regional Auto Theft Task Force (Delta RATT) detectives, immediately initiated an investigation. Through coordinated investigative efforts, two primary suspects were identified and taken into custody without incident. The investigation also resulted in the seizure of two illegal firearms and illicit narcotics.
