Man who hit, killed Stockton woman while apparently street racing pleads guilty

(FOX40.COM) — A man believed to be street racing before hitting and killing a woman walking her dog on a Stockton college campus pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter.

Jamaraqui Burks faces up to six years for the October 2024 collision that killed 23-year-old Jazmine Floris on San Joaquin Delta College.

Burks, driving up to 90 miles per hour, hit a vehicle and lost control of his Tesla Model X while “appearing” to race a Dodge Challenger near Pacific and W.
