Arrest made in 2019 disappearance of pregnant 16-year-old Victoria Marquina

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. — A break in the nearly six-year-old disappearance of a 16-year-old girl brought a moment of relief for her family Monday as prosecutors announced an arrest in the case.

The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office said Joshua Martinez has been indicted on multiple charges, including murder, in connection with the death of Victoria Marquina.

Marquina’s mother, Blanca Valencia, attended a hearing Monday in San Joaquin County Superior Court. Valencia listened as a judge addressed the case and later told ABC10 off-camera she was glad to see someone charged in her daughter’s death.
