MODESTO, Calif. — The Modesto Police Department says it has disabled several federal data-sharing connections in its Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system after discovering they remained active despite earlier efforts to comply with California law.
According to a community notice issued by the department, the issue was identified during a review conducted while preparing a response to a California Public Records Act request.
