New red-light camera activated in Modesto, warning period in effect

(FOX40.COM) — The City of Modesto announced on Friday that it has expanded its automated red-light camera safety program, activating a new intersection as part of an effort to reduce traffic violations and prevent crashes.

According to the Modesto Police Department, cameras are now active at northbound Carpenter Avenue at Kansas Avenue. Officials said the location, like others in the program, will operate under a 30-day warning period before citations are issued.

The program launched earlier this month, police said, with the first cameras going live on eastbound Briggsmore Avenue and Coffee Road. Additional intersections were activated on March 10 and March 20, bringing multiple locations online across the city…
