(FOX40.COM) — A man was arrested late Wednesday night after officers with the Ceres Police Department found a loaded firearm during a traffic stop.
At about 10:46 p.m., officers were patrolling near Hatch and Herndon roads when they observed a black Nissan sedan commit vehicle code violations. Officer McClain initiated a stop and contacted the driver, identified as James Cook, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Ceres police said that Cook became argumentative during the encounter. Officers noticed a bag on the driver’s side floorboard between his legs and learned he was on Post Release Community Supervision, which allows for compliance searches…
